EXCLUSIVE TO HELLO! VIP
From inside the royal tour, HELLO!'s Royal Editor, Emily Nash, shares her first-hand perspective on The King’s landmark US visit.
Don't miss her latest opinion piece on why watching Queen Camilla win over New York as the King steps into his power was something she'll never forget.
"I'm writing this from the gate at JFK after a whirlwind day. Up at 3 am and on a flight out of D.C. at 6 am, I spent the day in New York, where the King and Queen rubbed shoulders with Big Apple royalty from Sarah Jessica Parker to Anna Wintour, and shone a light on causes close to their hearts," Emily writes.
"After a late night at the White House, they brushed off any residual jet lag to expand their charm offensive to the city that never sleeps – much like the travelling press pack. The King's twin speeches are still looming large in the headlines and earning widespread acclaim on both sides of the Pond. Social media is awash with clips of his jokes, and on a visit to Harlem, I saw one woman hold onto his hand as she told him: 'Thank you for your speech to Congress, we needed that.'"
Read on for details of the royal couple's romantic love match in New York, how The Crown has coloured public opinion in the US and the moment that helped Camilla win over the city.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: "The Prince and Princess of Wales are following the situation closely, and are, of course, concerned about the attacks upon the Jewish community. The innocent victims of today's attack are in their thoughts, and they wish them a speedy recovery."

Queen Mary and King Frederik were also in attendance, as were royals from Serbia, Romania and Luxembourg.
King Charles delivers 'perfect comeback' to impersonation
King Charles has become an unlikely social media sensation following a witty encounter with US comedian Matt Friend. During a garden party on 27 April, the first day of the King’s historic state visit to Washington, D.C., the impressionist seized the moment while meeting the monarch in the receiving line.
After being introduced, Friend switched into a mimicry of the King's distinctive voice, admitting he had been "studying" him to perfect the accent. Unfazed, the King displayed his characteristic dry sense of humour, playfully telling the comedian to "keep trying" before adding, "We'll award you marks of merit."

Queen Camilla Speaks With Jenna Bush Hager about their shared love for reading
Queen Camilla made an appearance at the New York Public Library, which highlighted her charity, The Queen’s Reading Room.
The British royal celebrated the joy of reading and the power of storytelling in an exclusive conversation with Jenna Bush Hager during her first visit to the United States since she became Queen.
In an interview that aired on Thursday, Jenna and the Queen spoke following her majesty’s appearance a day earlier at the New York Public Library in New York City. She and King Charles III are currently on their first official state visit as Britain’s reigning monarch and queen consort.
It was a full-circle moment, as Camilla’s first trip to the U.S. with Charles as a married couple was in 2005, when they had a White House dinner with Jenna’s parents, former President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush. Jenna was also in attendance with her now-husband, Henry Hager.
"I love it that we can be back together," Jenna told her. "And loving books,” Camilla said. The queen remarked that their state visit has been "good fun," but also a bit of a whirlwind."It’s been wonderful, and everybody’s been very kind and welcoming," she said. "Well, it’s always a pleasure to be here. Always, always lovely to be back in New York again."
Mini royal It-girls!
Princess Charlotte delighted royal fans when she appeared on a surprise portrait alongside her Wales family members, the Princess and Princess of Wales and her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis.
While royal watchers were distracted by the rare look at family life behind the scenes, we couldn't help but notice that the young Princess sported rather grown-up blue nails.
But we have noticed of late that Charlotte's fellow tween family, Mia Tindall, the 12-year-old daughter of Mike and Zara Tindall and Isla Phillips, the 14-year-old daughter of Peter Phillips and his ex-wife, Autumn, have been experimenting with their nail choices of late.
At the Randox Grand National Festival, Mia rocked, what appeared to be, French tip acrylic nails, while Isla sported oval French tips at this year's Easter Sunday service in Windsor.
Full circle moment
King Charles and Queen Camilla have been spending the week in the United States, where they have had a glittering State Banquet with President Donald Trump and headed to New York City for moving engagements.
However, this is far from the first time that the monarch has travelled across the pond on official business, with his first trip to the United States coming back in 1970, when he was aged 21. And with a 56-year time difference, Charles looked miles different from how he currently does, being a dapper young chap during his initial visit.
Charles and his sister, Princess Anne, were in the country from 16 to 18 July 1970 as they spent time in the capital, Washington D.C.
At the time, Charles was one of the world's most eligible bachelors, and the then US President, Richard Nixon, attempted to set the royal up with his own daughter, Tricia. The then heir to the throne escorted Tricia to a formal dinner, and the pair saw several sites in the capital, as well as a baseball game.
Flawless fashionista
The sun is out and (hopefully) here to stay, and for our favourite sustainable It-Girl, Lady Amelia Windsor, that means a fabulous spring wardrobe to go with the new season.
Amelia donned a striking leopard print look while heading out for a wholesome evening of pottery.
The ultra-chic look was comprised of flared leopard print trousers and a brown vest exposing Amelia's impeccable tan.
"Had such a sweet Friday evening at @housepotterylondon Building and painting mugs and cups whilst having a lovely chat to the other guests and our fab teacher. A very therapeutic and wholesome activity and I can’t wait to see my pieces after they’ve gone in the kiln," the royal wrote, documenting the evening on Instagram.
Did someone say Dior?
Queen Camilla has consistently looked elegant throughout her and King Charles' State Visit to the US, which commenced on 26 April and is rounded off on Thursday evening. The trip started in Washington DC before the royal couple embarked on an internal flight to New York.
On 29 April, Queen Camilla, 78, was seen visiting the New York Public Library alongside Sex and the City star, Sarah Jessica Parker, with a behind-the-scenes video being posted on the official Royal Family Instagram account. In said video, the royal is captured on the private plane carrying a Lady Dior handbag.
Eyes at Althorp
Charles Spencer, the brother of the late Princess Diana, delighted his followers with a sweet photo from inside his sprawling family estate, Althorp House, in Nottinghamshire.
Taking to X, the author, 61, shared a photo of his adorable pup looking out the window, whom he says was "Intrigued by a sighting of our alpacas…"
"What a handsome devil!" one fan replied. A second added: "Aww gorgeous dog." Meanwhile, a third penned: "What a beauty."
Back from D.C.
Hi everyone! I'm back from D.C. but King Charles and Queen Camilla's state visit isn't over just yet. Stay tuned for updates as the royals wrap up their trip today.
Royal workout
Lady Amelia Spencer looked simply flawless as she documented a candid pre-workout moment.
The royal, 33, posed in an elegant pink gym top while lying on a yoga mat, the photo taken in a decadent mirrored ceiling of dreams.
"Ready for your workout," she penned in the caption, tagging her personal trainer husband, Gregg Mallet.
Passing over!
That's all from me! I will be handing over to the lovely Alex Hurtado in the US who will be keeping you updated this evening!

Goodbyes at the White House
Before saying goodbye to King Charles and Queen Camilla at the White House on Friday, President Trump called the British monarch "a great King" and "the greatest king, in my book." Check out pictures from the farewell here.
The next stop for the royals is Virginia!
Queen Mary sparkles in Sweden
Queen Mary of Denmark dazzled in a tiara at the gala dinner for King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden's 80th birthday celebrations held at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. The mom of four paired the sparkler with a pink printed gown featuring a keyhole neckline. In a post shared on Instagram, the Danish Royal House wrote (translated to English): "The entire Royal Family wishes His Majesty a big congratulations on the even birthday!"
Sweden's Princess Estelle looks grown up!
Princess Estelle, 14, looked all grown up in a purple gown for her maternal grandfather's 80th birthday gala dinner. The royal teen, who is second in line to the Swedish throne, accompanied her mom Crown Princess Victoria and dad Prince Daniel to the celebration for King Carl XVI Gustaf.
Meghan shares place she and Harry have 'affinity' for
The Duchess of Sussex opened up about her and Prince Harry's recent visit to Australia with The Australian Women's Weekly. "My husband and I have such an affinity for Australia," Meghan said. "I said to him the day we were flying out, “The only thing better than Australia are Australians"
When it came to the Australian labels she wore on the trips, the As ever founder admitted that it would be hard to pick one as a favorite, explaining "because I put each look together with a different vibe in mind, and I loved them all for different reasons. There wasn’t always time to change between locations, so it was fun to get creative.”
Though there was one particular look that felt "nostalgic" for the Duchess. She shared: “The look that felt modern but also nostalgic for me was what I wore for MasterChef Australia from Matteau and Camilla and Marc, because a button-down shirt and sleek pencil skirt felt very 'Rachel Zane' from my Suits days. I was back on set, so I felt sentimental about it – and of course I thought wearing black was a safe choice in case there were any spills!”
Meghan described fashion as "one of the most powerful industries." She noted that it "influences how we feel and what we project. And even if you don’t say a word, you can convey something in what you wear. Over the last several years, I would hear about an incorrect designer getting credit for something I wore, either via affiliate links or press, and that never seemed fair. “
The Duchess continued: "Credit where credit is due. These brands and designers work so hard and take great pride in their work, and I choose them for a reason. Either supporting a friend, being brand loyal, or the reasons I mentioned earlier. So it’s always been important to me that the correct designer is credited."
King Charles and Queen Camilla get Trump "to do something that nobody else was able to do"
After the King left D.C., President Trump took to Truth Social to announce that he was lifting tariffs and restrictions on Scottish whiskey. He wrote: "In Honor of the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, who have just left the White House, soon headed back to their wonderful Country, I will be removing the Tariffs and Restrictions on Whiskey having to do with Scotland’s ability to work with the Commonwealth of Kentucky on Whiskey and Bourbon, two very important Industries within Scotland and Kentucky."
"People have wanted to do this for a long time, in that there had been great Inter-Country Trade, especially having to do with the Wooden Barrels used. The King and Queen got me to do something that nobody else was able to do, without hardly even asking! A wonderful Honor to have them both in the U.S.A. President DONALD J. TRUMP."
King and Queen attend a block party
King Charles and Queen Camilla attended a block party in Front Royal, Virginia to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
There, the couple met a pair of newborn lambs named Charles and Camilla in their honor. When the Queen later mat Charles, she stroke his head and rubbed his neck, saying he was “very aptly named” and told him: “You’re very sweet”.
The King and Queen brought a Coronation quiche and Victoria sponge cake for the community's pot luck picnic, and swapped honey (their from the royal beehives) with local beekeepers.
A visit to a national park
King Charles, a known environmentalist, paid a visit to Shenandoah National Park, where he heard about the importance of the National Park system and learned about the work Rangers and visitors do to protect their natural environments and wildlife for future generations. His Majesty also met with members of the Monacan Indian Nation.
The Queen heads to a farm
For her final stop of the state visit, the Queen, who is passionate about horses, visited Smitten Farm to find out more about America’s horseracing industry and opportunities for collaboration between the British and American racing.
