Cheryl has kept a low profile since the passing of her ex-partner and father of her son, Liam Payne. But on Tuesday, the Girls Aloud star, 42, took to Instagram for the first time in three months with an update.
The singer shared a carousel of photos from a private holiday to Walt Disney World in Florida, which she enjoyed with her nine-year-old son, Bear. "Somewhere in the corners of the world, magic still exists," Cheryl captioned the post. "I don't know what took me so long to experience the joys of @waltdisneyworld, but I completely escaped into my inner child for the last couple of weeks. What a wonderful place."
In the opening shot, Cheryl posed in bright red trousers and a sunhat under a large tree, and in another, she sat on the Toy Story Mania ride, beaming while her son rode next to her. In a video, Cheryl walked through the amusement park at night, holding Bear's hand.
The youngster, who wore a grey tracksuit set to match his mother's, with the hood up, looked so tall. It was a rare glimpse into Cheryl's life as a mother, as she has opted to keep her son away from the public eye.
Cheryl raises Bear in private
Bear hasn't featured on his mother's social media since 2022, when the pair visited Lapland UK in time for the festive season. However, in 2017, shortly after Bear was born, Cheryl did reveal how motherhood was treating her. "It changes your life completely, but in the most amazing way. But I've had the best six months of my life," she said, as per ITV News.
Two years later, she told The Telegraph: "Everything changed for me from the moment Bear was born. I knew the word 'fulfilled', but I'd never known what that felt like. Money, fame, and success should have made me feel that, but they never did.
"The moment I held him in my arms, I had that feeling: fulfillment," she added. "It's stayed with me. And I've changed so much. I really have."
Cheryl's step into motherhood
When Cheryl fell pregnant with Bear, she did not make a traditional announcement, as many celebrities do, using social media. Instead, she appeared in a photoshoot for The Prince's Trust and L'Oréal's 'All Worth It' campaign, showing her blossoming baby bump.
The star and her former late partner announced the birth of Bear on Instagram. Captioning a photo of Liam holding baby Bear, whose name was announced later, the 'Fight For This Love' singer shared that the newborn weighed 7lb 9, was "an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy" and was "looking like a dream".
